About ZenOut

Make technology useful to the people doing the work.

ZenOut Labs is the AI consulting and custom business systems practice of Zen Solutions and Systems LLC. Work directly with Gregory Pfister on workflow automation, internal tools, and AI-assisted workflows built around your existing software—with people in control of the decisions that matter.

A direct working relationship

Hi, I’m Gregory Pfister.

I’m the founder behind ZenOut Labs. You work directly with me to understand the problem, decide what is worth changing, and define the next step.

I’m interested in the places where a team keeps doing the same work because its tools or processes do not fit together. Sometimes the answer involves AI. Sometimes it is a straightforward automation, an internal interface, or a clearer way to organize information.

The work should be explainable: what the system does, what it does not do, what a person needs to review, and who owns it afterward.

I also created ZenSigil, an experimental open-source programming language for readable data programs and proposed actions for review.

How I approach the work

Understand first. Then make a deliberate choice.

A useful engagement has a clear problem, clear boundaries, and a result you can evaluate.

01

Start with a concrete example

Look at the actual task and the people involved before proposing tools. A specific recurring problem is a better starting point than a broad request to add AI.

02

Separate advice from implementation

A consultation should be useful on its own. If a build is the right next step, it receives its own scope, quote, and acceptance criteria.

03

Show the limits

Keep uncertainties, integration constraints, and missing data visible. Do not hide a manual dependency behind an impressive interface.

04

Leave people with control

Define approvals, ownership, and documentation so the system can be understood and operated after the initial work is complete.

Let’s look at the work itself.

Bring the part of your process that keeps taking more time or attention than it should.
