FAQ
Short answers.
How is profit calculated?
Gross monthly sales minus refunds, percentage fees, fixed transaction fees, delivery costs, software, marketing, and the time value you enter.
Why are refunds charged before fees?
The free model is intentionally conservative and assumes modeled transaction fees are still paid on refunded orders. Provider policies differ, so edit the fee fields when your statement shows something else.
Are the fee presets guaranteed to be current?
No. Official source links and the checked date are shown beside the fee controls. Fees can change and account-specific charges may apply.
How does the Gumroad profit estimate work?
The direct-sales preset uses Gumroad's published 10% + $0.50 per transaction, with no separate processing fee. Gumroad Discover sales use a different fee.
Can I calculate Etsy profit for digital downloads?
Yes. The Etsy US preset includes the $0.20 listing fee, 6.5% transaction fee, and 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee. Offsite Ads and account-specific charges are excluded.
Does this guarantee profit?
No. It tests assumptions. Demand, taxes, disputes, ad performance, and platform rules can change the real result.
